Being a leader is more about attitude than position, more about responsibility than authority. Today, success relies heavily on a person's ability to lead themselves through the moral and ethical pitfalls of modern society. When a person has mastered their own ability to make values-based decisions, others will more easily follow their lead.

The Presidents' Academy of Leadership is designed for the leaders of chapters, colonies, and interest groups. The Academy is held in an environment that allows participants to share thoughts, feelings and information, and to build confidence to face the sometimes lonely task of leading with integrity in surroundings that have not always welcomed such ideas.

Who Can Attend
Academy is open to current Chapter and Colony Presidents or President-elect members. Academy is also open to Chapter and Colony Grand Chapter Advisors or a Chapter Council Member who is going to fill-in for the GCA. Each undergraduate attendee must have a completed biographical data form on file at Fraternity Headquarters. Additionally, each member attending should have paid his pledge and initiation fees in full. If you are unsure if your fees have been paid, contact Fraternity Headquarters at the number provided below.

Registration Cost
Due to a considerable grant from the Alpha Sigma Phi Educational Foundation, there is only a $75.00 registration fee per person. Your registration fee will cover all Academy costs (lodging, meals, and program materials). Traditionally the Chapter or Colony pays the registration cost of the Grand Chapter Advisor or alumni volunteer who is attending on their behalf.

Transportation
All attendees within a 360 mile radius of Fraternity Headquarters are expected to make their own travel arrangements. At the conclusion of Academy, the Fraternity will provide a mileage reimbursement form to those participating. The reimbursement provided is meant to help with some, but not all, of your travel expenses. The Fraternity will work to make travel arrangements for those traveling more than 360 miles once their completed registration form is received.

Cancellation Policy
Registered attendees who cancel their registration after Friday, January 25, 2008, or do not show, will be assessed a $150.00 per person cancellation fee which will be payable within 30 days from the cancellation. If the cancellation/no-show payment is not received within 30 days the outstanding balance will be handed over to a collection agency. The individual will then be responsible for the cost of collections in addition to the cancellation/no-show fee. Those who wish to cancel their registration must do so by email.
