CARMEL, INDIANA - The Board of Directors of Alpha Sigma Phi Educational Foundation, Inc. announces the appointment of Drew M. Thawley, Ohio Wesleyan '94, as the Foundation's President and Chief Executive Officer.

Thawley brings 12 years of fraternal and student development experience to the role. He served as CEO of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, Inc. from 2004-2008, has been heavily involved in interfraternal and university based character development and leadership programs, and has been active in both the Fraternity Executives Association and the North American Interfraternity Conference.

He has consulted with colleges and universities regarding their student development strategy, and most recently, Drew served as Regional Vice President for Outside The Classroom, Inc., a Boston based company that works with more than 500 universities in partnership to reduce high risk drinking and liability exposure.

"Drew has strong support from the Board of Directors," says Chairman Brian Jump, Indiana '77. "What attracted us most to Drew is his true understanding of today's collegiate environment and his familiarity with our large alumni base. In combination, these attributes will drive the purpose and success of our Foundation."

Thawley, originally from Ohio and Connecticut, lives in Zionsville, Indiana with his two young boys and wife, Gina. Drew is a 1997 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and is a member of the Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity.

Thawley succeeds L. Gale Wilkerson, Delta Tau Delta '66, as the Foundation's President and Chief Executive Officer. Wilkerson served the Foundation as its executive from August 2007 until he retires after the Board of Directors meeting in August 2009. Wilkerson is responsible for the Foundation's recent fund raising accomplishments, as well as providing day-to-day strategic guidance to prepare the Educational Foundation for a strong future.
