In congruence with the Fraternity's Vision and Purpose, Alpha Sigma Phi is proud to offer scholarships each year to undergraduates who would like to attend a national session of The LeaderShape Institute at the Allerton Conference Center in Monticello, Illinois, approximately 25 miles southwest of Champaign, Illinois. This year additional sessions will be held in Boston and Atlanta.
The scholarships, valued at $1,500, cover conference materials, meals, lodging, and transportation or travel reimbursement. Previous LeaderShape attendees are not eligible.
The LeaderShape Institute is an interactive, energizing, and unique experience that builds leadership skills no other program can match. Since 1986, over 20,000 participants from all over the world have graduated from the program. But be prepared! It is six days of non-stop self-discovery and learning from practical experiences that build your leadership concepts and abilities. Its go, go, go 12 hours a day ... the participants love it!

LeaderShape History
The LeaderShape Institute held its pilot program in 1986 at the Allerton Conference Center near Champaign, Illinois. Originally developed by Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity as a means of improving campus leadership, The LeaderShape Institute now serves young adults representing a wide variety of organizations throughout the United States.To date, more than 30,000 participants from colleges, universities, and corporations from across the country have attended The LeaderShape Institute. In addition, more than 2,500 volunteer faculty have contributed their time and talents since the program began in 1986.
Alpha Sigma Phi Connection
Under the guidance of Dr. Robert M. Sheehan, Jr., Westminster ’76, LeaderShape has become one of the nation’s premier leadership programs. After serving as the Fraternity’s Executive Director, Brother Sheehan took over as the Executive Director of LeaderShape in 1992. He is currently the Chairman of LeaderShape’s Board of Directors, a position he has held since 2007.
